DEA’s Marine Services team, traveled to La Ciotat, France, for an intense week-long training and certification on the DriX autonomous survey vessel, provided by Exail.
The DriX is a 25-foot Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV) that can operate autonomously at sea. It’s equipped with a customizable hydrographic survey payload, advanced navigational instruments, and cutting-edge communication and safety systems.
Jason Dorfman shared, “This was a challenging and unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the DriX system. We are excited to incorporate this cutting-edge technology into the 2024 NOAA project and future Marine Services missions.”
