DEA is offering two $3,000 scholarships to support women and minority students who demonstrate exceptional promise in the transportation engineering field.
The goal of the DEA scholarships is to assist the recipient in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to transportation engineering. One scholarship will be awarded to a student attending college in the Northwest (Idaho, Oregon, Montana, or Washington) and the second scholarship will be awarded to a student attending college within Arizona, California, or Colorado.
Scholarship Program Overview
- DEA will award scholarships of $3,000 each to two women or minority recipients for the 2011 – 2012 academic year
- The scholarship recipients will be selected based on meeting eligibility requirements and the content of their applications
- Selection will be made by a committee comprised of DEA management and an external client representative
- These are one-time scholarships payable to the accredited college or university of choice in the fall of
2011 for the 2011 – 2012 academic year
Eligibility Guidelines
- Must plan to attend college the 2011-2012 academic year and enroll in courses related to earning a degree in the transportation engineering field
- Must be a woman and/or a minority
- Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
- Must fully complete the application and submit a résumé and a copy of your transcript with cumulative G.P.A. by the closing date of March 31, 2011.
