Construction Updates

Beginning tomorrow, August 12, the contractor, Northwest Earthmovers Inc., and their subcontractors, will begin road reconstruction work on existing Saltzman Road, between 128th Terrace and Filbert Street with the goal to have the road within this segment substantially completed prior to the Labor Day weekend.
The following is the tentative schedule for the resurfacing work, weather dependent:
August 12 and 13:
- Pulverizing (grinding) of existing asphalt surface and rough grading
The week of August 16:
- Fine grading of base rock
- Adjustment of underground structures (manholes, valves) to final grades
- Miscellaneous construction activities
The week of August 23:
- Base lift and final lift paving
- Installation of temporary striping
- Installation of remaining illumination
NOTE: Because there will be several days between the initial pulverization of the existing roadway and the installation of the first lift of asphalt, traffic will need to be run on the base rock. Measures will be in place to minimize dust and to caution drivers in this section of the roadway.
As with most construction activities, there will be noise, dust, and traffic impacts. The County apologizes in advance for these inconveniences and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Work Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday
Lane Restrictions: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday
