The Musical Instrument Museum

Phoenix, AZ

DEA completed preliminary and final engineering services for this world class museum that allows visitors to experience music and musical instruments from around the world. The $250 million facility is located on an 18-acre site at the southwest corner of Tatum and Mayo Boulevards in Phoenix, Arizona. Working as a subconsultant to the architect and in cooperation with the general contractor, DEA provided grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans; a final drainage report; utility coordination, land survey and construction administration support.

Constructed within an extremely limited time frame of 39 months, unprecedented for a museum, the museum is designed to facilitate music research and to provide community educational outreach.
