First Street over Glendale Boulevard Rehabilitation and Seismic Retrofit Project

The First Street Viaduct over Glendale Boulevard project includes bridge design, associated roadway improvements, and utility coordination to complete the 100% Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) package. The bridge improvements include seismic retrofit in accordance with the approved Seismic Retrofit Strategy Report dated June 2002, and the widening based on the 90% plans provided with the Task Order Solicitation (TOS). Previous preliminary design work was completed by Kleinfelder for the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Engineering (LA BOE).
The DEA team worked closely with LA BOE to address issues from Council District 1, Los Angeles Department of Transportation, City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Caltrans District 7. Final input and review by these departments plays a central role in the successful execution of this project.
