DEA led the Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study for this interchange and is currently leading the NEPA and Final Design phase for this interchange. The study gained consensus on short- and long-term recommendations through a clear and proactive stakeholder involvement program. The project is now moving forward to the NEPA and Preliminary Design phase focused on vetting the recommended alternatives produced during the PEL phase. As part of the NEPA and Final Design phase, DEA’s project team is updating the environmental existing conditions and evaluating the recommended alternatives from the PEL to incorporate land use changes and updated traffic data. Utilizing data from the PEL process, DEA was able to streamline initial NEPA and design project tasks.
