Schultz-Wautoma Transmission Line Survey
DEA provided surveying, right-of-way, appraisal, photo mapping and project documentation services for 40 miles of proposed transmission line from the Black Rock substation in Benton County, Wash., to the Schultz substation in Kittitas County.
DEA spearheaded a process to incorporate digital orthophotography with final mile maps to create dynamic, project-specific exhibit information for the proposed line. These color map exhibits were an innovative way to show visual impacts and delineate right-of-way locations relative to physical features such as wetlands, sensitive plant communicates, and significant cultural resources. The exhibits also were used to illustrate the extent of proposed construction impacts to affected agencies and served as a visual reference to landowners for proposed transmission tower placements.
