Las Haciendas Models
DEA landscape architects provided design services for a complex of nine model homes and two demonstration gardens. The client wanted the project to have the look and feel of the "hacienda" style. To achieve this look, DEA landscape architects drew upon traditional Spanish and Mexican design elements such as decorative tile, fountains and shaded patios as a retreat from the desert sun. Agaves, native grasses, and boulders also played an important role in the landscape to further evoke the spirit of the hacienda and its setting in the southwest desert.
