Sokol Blosser Winery Barrel Storage Facility
DEA provided the structural engineering needed to design Sokol Blosser Winery’s underground wine aging facility located in Dundee, Ore. The cellar efficiently maximizes barrel storage space and barrel movement while the shape of the interior actually promotes natural convection currents. The building was recognized as the first LEED® Silver Certified winery in the U.S. Soil covers the roof and walls of the building acting as a natural insulator. The topsoil was seeded with the same wildflowers used throughout the vineyards to facilitate bio-diversity.
